What this dataset does not cover

Plainly: the gastro directory is an inventory of places, not a guidebook. The fields below are absent from every entry. Treat the limits as the boundary of an inventory, not a defect.

Cuisine is not a field. Sushi inn, Chačapuri bistro, CanCan Pizza, The town steakhouse and Lucky Chinese food are all labelled "Restaurant" in the dataset. There is no cuisine split inside the 482-entry Restaurant bucket.

Partnership is uniformly "No". The dataset carries a partnership flag, but it is "No" across all 4,800 records — there is no partner signal to surface here.

And, listed verbatim, these are the things the Localinar Vilnius dataset does not contain:

  • No opening or founding dates per entity
  • No price points, average ticket, price range or currency information
  • No ratings, review counts or quality scores
  • No employee counts, seating capacity, or footprint information

Methodology

How these counts were derived

Counts are derived from the Localinar entity database for Vilnius as of 2026-06-28. The snapshot used here is the Localinar dataset (2026-06-28), containing 4,800 entities. Subtype labels come from our standardised taxonomy.

  • Each entity carries a name, a top-level category, a native-language subtype (Lithuanian), an English subtype, and a partnership flag. Coordinates are present on 99.6% of entries (18 records lack lat/lon).
  • Subtype counts are derived by word-boundary string-matching of keywords against the sub/subEn labels — e.g. the Brewery count of 1 matches the keyword "brewery". An entity labelled "Pub" in the dataset would not be counted in Brewery even if it brews on-site. A small number of venues may match more than one keyword (e.g. a "Bar/Pub" label), so subtype counts can sum to slightly more than the de-duplicated gastro total of 1,146.
  • Top-level Food & Hospitality totals 1,376; the gastro layer reported here is 1,146 of those, the difference being entries whose subtype does not match any of the 9 gastro keywords used.
  • District (seniūnija) coverage is 94.5% — 20 distinct Vilnius elderates resolve in the data. Coverage varies — some businesses may not yet be on our map.
  • url field is present for roughly 48.1% of entries; where present it is a mix of homepages, social profiles and aggregator links and the report links through verbatim.

Why don't you show ratings or prices?
Because the dataset does not contain them. There are no review counts, star ratings, popularity scores, price tiers or average-bill figures attached to any entry. Adding such labels would be a fabrication.
Why is there only one Restaurant subtype for 482 places?
Cuisine is not a field in the source data. Sushi inn, Chačapuri bistro and CanCan Pizza are all labelled "Restaurant". We respect that label and do not invent cuisine tags.
Does this cover all of Vilnius?
Yes — the bounding box stretches roughly 19.8 km north–south and 19.2 km east–west and the dataset resolves to 20 distinct Vilnius elderates (seniūnijos) for 94.5% of entries. Coverage varies — some businesses may not yet be on our map.
