What this dataset does not cover
Plainly: the gastro directory is an inventory of places, not a guidebook. The fields below are absent from every entry. Treat the limits as the boundary of an inventory, not a defect.
Cuisine is not a field. Asian, Italian, Danish and everything else all sit inside the same generic subtype labels (Restaurant, Fast Food, Cafe). There is no single-bucket cuisine split.
Partnership is a flag, not a contract. The dataset carries a partnership marker on every entry — but the values are not summarized here, and no contract terms, fees, or onboarding dates are attached.
And, listed verbatim, these are the things the dataset does not contain:
- Dataset contains no opening hours or service times.
- No price levels, price ranges, or menu costs are recorded.
- No customer ratings, review scores, or popularity rankings are present.
- No employee counts, staff size, or capacity (seats) information.
- No cuisine tags beyond the high-level sub/subEn label (e.g., Restaurant, Fast Food); ethnic cuisine, dietary tags, halal/vegan flags are not captured.

How these counts were derived
Counts are derived from the Localinar entity database for Aalborg as of 2026-06-28. The snapshot used here is the Localinar dataset (version 1.0, 2026-06-28), containing 2,060 entities. Subtype labels come from our standardised taxonomy.
- Each entity carries a name, a top-level category, a native-language subtype, an English subtype, and a partnership flag. Latitude and longitude are present on every entry.
- Subtype counts are derived by string-matching keywords against the subtype labels — e.g. the Brewery count of 2 matches the keyword "brewery". An entity labelled "Pub" in the dataset would not be counted in Brewery even if it brews on-site.
- Top-level Food & Hospitality totals 587; the gastro layer reported here is 516 of those, the difference being entries whose subtype does not match any of the 9 gastro keywords used.
- Taxonomy coverage is uneven — url coverage is 38.5% (794 of 2,060) and district coverage is 91.7% across 10 distinct neighbourhood-level values. Coverage varies — some businesses may not yet be on our map.
- District tagging is a label only. We have not aggregated per-district counts and do not publish them here.
