Plainly: the gastro directory is an inventory of places, not a guidebook. The fields below are absent from every entry. Treat the limits as the boundary of an inventory, not a defect.

Cuisine is not a field. Chada Thai (subtype: Restaurant), Babeuf (subtype: Restaurant) and Siam Square (subtype: Restaurant) all sit inside the same Restaurant bucket of 318 entries. There is no single-bucket cuisine split.

Partnership is a flag, not a contract. The dataset carries a Yes/No-style partnership marker — but no contract terms, fees, or partner-onboarding dates.

And, listed verbatim, these are the things the dataset does not contain:

  • No opening dates, year founded, or business age information.
  • No pricing, price tier, or average ticket information.
  • No ratings, reviews, or rating counts.
  • No employee counts, seating capacity, or operational scale data.

Counts are derived from the Localinar entity database for Freiburg im Breisgau. The snapshot used here is the Localinar dataset (version 1.0, updated 2026-03-28), containing 1,354 entities; this report was published 2026-06-28. Subtype labels come from our standardised taxonomy.

  • Each entity carries a name, a top-level category, a native-language subtype (sub), an English subtype (subEn), and a partnership flag. Coordinates (lat, lon) are present on every record.
  • Subtype counts are derived by keyword-matching against the subtype labels — e.g. the Bakery count of 56 matches the keyword "bakery". This means an entity labelled "Cafe" in the dataset would not be counted in Bakery even if it bakes on-site.
  • Top-level Food & Hospitality totals 862; the gastro layer reported here is 784 of those, the difference being entries whose subtype does not match any of the 7 gastro keywords used.

Why don't you show ratings or prices?
Because the dataset does not contain them. There are no review counts, star ratings, popularity scores, price tiers or average-bill figures attached to any entry. Adding such labels would be a fabrication.
Why is there only one Restaurant subtype for 318 places?
Cuisine is not a field in the dataset. Chada Thai, Babeuf and Siam Square are all labelled "Restaurant" in the dataset. We respect that and do not invent cuisine tags.
Does this cover only the city of Freiburg?
The footprint stretches from lat 47.95 to 48.05 (north–south) and lon 7.76 to 7.91 (east–west) — roughly 10.6 by 11.3 km. Surrounding localities such as Gundelfingen and Tiengen appear in the district list as well.
